Week 3 In Review

I’m not going to pretend this week was good; in all honesty, it was probably the worst one I’ve had to go through in the recent past. It left me physically and emotionally drained, with little to show for it.

Monday was the last day we officially assembled in our OGs, and where we were also shown our new classes. Probably the worst day of the week for me, after considering what the future entailed.

New: Meeting classmates, CT, PCT, physics, chinese, chem, and both english teachers.

The class committee was appointed on Tuesday; chairman was voted in while he was outside of class; 3 scholars and 2 locals. Slack but long day as TOK, math and econs teachers failed to show up, for a total of 3h 20 min of free periods. Compared with the 3 hours of lessons we actually had, that wasn’t such a bad deal. Walking around at EE talks was pretty good, as it came on the back of seeing what exactly the PRC guys are capable of during free periods (see: reading Shriver and Atkins as opposed to the others who spent 1 hour playing Murderer).

New: Received a list of subject teachers for our class

Wednesday was comparatively good, given that it was a short day; TOK remains a no-show; first-ever 100-minute science lesson, something which I definitely need to get used to; first PE lesson. Not an overly taxing school day, which was followed by copious amounts of gaming in the afternoon.

New: 2.4 route, seeing Liu Ze jump 265 (!!!)

HL day, Thursday (week A, anyway) with the wonderfully engaging timetable of econs-math-physics-chem-physics-math-chem; the class starts to sabo Zixi (chairman; “I think he’s hot” – vice chairperson, and a female at that) for everything now; first math and PC (which was pretty useful) lessons. This preceded an absolutely unnecessary walk in the pouring rain, absolutely soaking. And I should add that the lesson learnt from this story is that the difference between us and the scholars is that they would never do something this stupid. End of story.

New: mostly syllabus-related stuff, having a real PC lesson
Friday, and the moment everyone (OK…maybe not *everyone*…) has been waiting for. I don’t believe a 12.40 day has ever felt so short before, except maybe for exam days. So I promptly treated myself to lunch at McDonald’s whereupon my wallet became thin and I became fat. More gaming ensued.

New: a greater appreciation of early dismissal on Fridays

So far, life hasn’t exactly been great; I need more information and a game plan. We’ll see how it plays out next week.
