It is Saturday, it is 3am, and I am awake. Or rather, I have just woken up.
This has come in a week where I have averaged 4.5 hours of sleep per day, various naps included, culminating in catching only an hour of sleep the morning math portfolio was due. After grabbing a relatively short nap before dinner, I went back to bed at 7 and my parents never woke me up…
With my awakening comes an unexplainable happiness. The school week is over!
*****
It has truly been a hectic week. With it comes a palpable sense of finality, even only if it is the knowledge that 1/3 of TOK and another 10% of Math grades are done with.
I mentioned before that Math portfolio was fun. Memories of it, however, have already started to be purged - or maybe I just don’t remember very much without sleep. But churning out 20-odd pages is satisfying and it is most assuredly not a bore when one is engaged by the work, and when one can be sure that the effort put in staying up late will be worth it in the end. It is sickening, though, to see the huge number of people who came late, or skipped school entirely, just to finish it up.
I am going to shower now.
